About Dr. Al-Raisi

Major General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi is one of the most prominent law enforcement leaders in the United Arab Emirates.

He has more than four decades of law enforcement experience and is an expert in policing, digital transformation, forensics, and international anti-crime coordination. Dr. Al-Raisi is the Inspector General at the Ministry of Interior in the United Arab Emirates and has held this role since 2015.

He has been instrumental in many policing advancements in the UAE including:

  • Policing technology, forensics, management, and international anti-crime coordination
  • Development of the UAE’s integrated security system and roll-out of iris and facial recognition technology
  • Establishment of Geographic Information System enabling operation coordination by geographical needs.

Dr. Al-Raisi has also played a key role in launching strategic initiatives to enhance smart government programs, working to enhance public-sector services for citizens in line with the UAE’s vision for 2021 and beyond.

Building strong international partnerships

Dr. Al-Raisi’s efforts have significantly contributed to expanding MOI’s international partnerships, resulting in signed memoranda of understanding with more than 80 countries and the formation of eight joint security committees with other countries.

For example, Dr. Al-Raisi played a key role in the signing of the Agreement for Construction of the Regional Center for Avoidance of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Radiation. In addition, Dr. Al-Raisi frequently represents MOI at the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the GCCPOL, and other regional joint committees.​

In addition to his work at MOI, Dr. Al-Raisi is an active member of the INTERPOL Executive Committee, having served as the Delegate for Asia for the past three years. During this time, he has worked closely with the INTERPOL President and the Secretary General to support the modernization of INTERPOL's structures, procedures, and working methods, as well as to support the development of a strategy for the future of INTERPOL aimed at further enhancing INTERPOL’s ability to respond and adapt to new trends in criminal activities.
